We investigated using an official ShoutCasting program but found a few problems regarding synchronization between broadcasting & the actual game as well as the high bandwidth use for broadcasters so have decided on a different approach. We are, from Season IV, using Ventrilo as our ShoutCast program.
Many thanks to Dominance Gaming who have agreed to assist SAIL with supplying the Ventrilo server to the community. The details for the SAIL ShoutCast server is:
IP: 118.127.0.79
Port: 5094
Once in the server you will not be able to talk, only listen. Permissions to talk will be added for the participating ShoutCasters each night as well as any guests involved.
You can catch the Deci, Sullo & Silence Show each week on their nominated MOTR. If you would like to assist, do a show or try your hand at ShoutCasting let us know via the forums or by contacting us. The more the merrier. |

Make sure all participants are aware of the Rules & Code Of Conduct. "I didn't know" just won't cut it with the Admins. Team Captains are responsible for their teams. All teams will need to confirm their Team Captains for Season V.
At this stage the season will start late January. It is anticipated to be January 31st unless any unforseen problems arise. There will be two divisions for Season V with the promotion & relegation system being applied at season's end. As we are looking at more teams for this season so we will be adding new maps to the rotation. Team Captains will have an opportunity to vote in the private section for their teams. Because of this I will need an updated TC's list ASAP from all teams. Could all teams TC's PM me their two TC's for Season V. The vote for maps will start within the next couple of weeks. Maps from this season will be automatically included so we just have a top up required.
Another change from previous seasons will be XRay. From Season V it will be the responsibility of individual teams to check their opposition XRay usage. This is to lessen the load on the Admin staff. If an opposition player is found not to have run XRay or has suspect screenshots or bad processes reported they should be reported to SAIL Admin for further investigation. Same penalties will apply as previous seasons. Any cheating infraction will mean instant banning from all SAIL events. Not running XRay will mean instant forfeit for the team involved. |

Welcome to the new home of the SAW Amateur Invite League. The move to this site was done so as to include the complete website, forum & competition sections on the one site. This also means one registration for all areas. For some yet to be explained reason some registrations do not carry over to the forum. I have not been able to replicate it on many test signups. If you are one of these people you will need to signup separately for the forum using the same details as you did for the main site. Permissions will then be set for your account. It is still a work in progress so please be patient. We are still testing out the site so please be patient with any problems found. Report any discrepancies to me via the forum for checking. Some sections allow "Comments" to be added. PLEASE DO NOT ABUSE this function!!!!!!!!!!
I have added some information for users on registering players & teams in the FAQ on the left as a guide. If any problems are found let me know or post on the Forum.
League Outline. The SAW competition league will be run as a round robin tournament. All teams will play each other once followed by finals for the top 4 clans at season end. All maps used for the competition will be custom maps. When finals arrive clans will have voting rights on maps used during the season in the form of 3 2 & 1 for the maps to be used for the finals. The winning map will be used for the deciding Grand Final map, second map for Prelim & third map for Semis.
The servers will be running a rate limiting addon to try to enforce an even playing field for all teams as well as a number of Anti_cheat programs. Pistols will also be a feature for classes. STV will be available for all matches.
The aim of this competition is to forge a new beginning for DODS without the bad sportsmanship & abuse that was evident with previous competitions. The Game Ops will be extremely strict on any abuse etc from teams in this competition. It is recommended that teams refrain talking to the other team when playing matches except for basic courtesy in game.
We hope that everyone will enjoy their gaming experience under these new conditions.
Registering. Player's names must comply with the SAW Code of Conduct. If in doubt ask first as all names that do not comply will be deleted from the player list.
Player's registered names must be the same as their in game name that is used. This is so that permissions can be set for players. The same name MUST be used for the main signup page, forum, in game & XRay. It must be distinguishable as the player.
The registered name must be used when on the Competition Server. No excuses accepted. Anyone in breach of this will be removed from the server.
XRAY. The Must Have Program!!!!!!! All participants in SAIL must register & download XRay anti-cheat program. This must be run for all matches that all participants play in. Anyone found not to have run this program for their match will forfeit the concerned match. It is team leaders responsibility to ensure that all their members have this program.
This program is a bit like Novacap except each player has an individual login via email & password. It is started before you go into game & recognises when DODS is started & automatically takes screenshots for as long as you are in game. Once you finish playing & close down DODS you upload the screenshots to the XRay website where you or other members are able to view them. From here suspicious screenshots can be reported for further investigation. Individual members are grouped together by their clantag as well. |
